The Art of Web Support in Higher Ed
First floor foyer, Frontier Airlines Center
Web support is a unique branch of operations due to its indirect exposure, through customers and clients, to symptoms of poor practices or past mistakes that still cause headaches for clients or customers, management, developers and designers. This talk will address some of the methods and tools you can use to improve your web support division, as well as use your analysis of this smaller branch to improve overall operations.
Presenter
Cristin O'Connor
Web Support Developer, University of Notre Dame
Cristin O'Connor fell in love with web design and development in college. From there, she dove into the subject matter, completing freelance work and interning on campus as a student web developer while taking classes in computer science, design and web development. Just prior to graduating, the University of Notre Dame's University Communications web team hired O'Connor full time as their web support developer. Some of her responsibilities include teaching clients how to use our home-grown CMS, Conductor, occasionally cutting sites and constantly troubleshooting almost any problem that comes her way. She draws the line at "deleting things from the Google."
