Tumblr is a popular micro-blogging platform that, when embraced by an individual, quickly becomes part of that person's life and a way to share intimate feelings and experiences. As an institution of higher education, listening to, and participating in, conversations on Tumblr is essential for a well-rounded social media plan. But how does a "official' Tumblr blog fit into this highly irreverent and personal community? This presentation examines concerns about reblogging private Tumblr content, creating original content designed for this platform and using Tumblr as a recruitment tool.
